Writing Effective EDI Statements
November 9, 2020–WISDOM MB virtually hosted Dr. Lisa Willis to speak on how to write outstanding EDI statements based on scientific literature. This event included discussions of mechanisms for integrating good EDI principles with the daily lab environment and how to incorporate this information into effective EDI statements.

Sex & Gender in biomedical research: Why does it matter?
October 6, 2020–WISDOM MB, in partnership with the Children’s Health Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM) Mentorship Program, presented “Sex & Gender in biomedical research: why does it matter?” featuring WISDOM executive committee chair, Dr. Neeloffer Mookherjee. This was the first WISDOM event delivered in an online format to tremendous success.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion: Navigating the Scientific Landscape
October 22, 2019–WISDOM MB partnered with the Children’s Health Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM) to present Equity, Diversity, Inclusion: Navigating the Scientific Landscape, a mentorship pre-conference symposium. This symposium focused on the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in scientific research within organizations and in the mentoring relationship.
